Kathleen Duncanson | 5 comments I have the Nook Tablet and I dropped it (in a protective case no less) and the drinking glass broke. I have a nice spider web of cracks in the glass. Does anyone know if this tin be repaired? I love my nook and take a lot of books yet to read. Thanks for whatsoever information you lot tin can pass forth.

Michelle (mgauffant) | 86 comments Yes and yeah. I had mine repaired this year at an ipad/tablet repair shop in my area. With so many tablets and smart phones, these shops are popping upwards everywhere. Just know that once you get that glass repaired, it nulls your warranty.
Mine was mode out of warranty anyhow, so I had no problems getting it fixed-and good equally new!!!

Kathleen Duncanson | 5 comments Cheers for responding to my question. would you be willing to give me the name of the shop or a telephone number? Also, do you lot recall the cost of replacing the glass?

Michelle (mgauffant) | 86 comments I'one thousand in AZ-so it all depends on where you are.
Look for mobile telephone/tablet repair on yelp; that's how i found mine.
I paid under $100.

Kathleen Duncanson | 5 comments Hello Michelle, I called Barnes & Noble today and they take offered to supplant my Nook an upgrade it to the Nook Hd + for $125. Since mine is a couple of years old I take decided to supplant it. It's a expert deal considering the toll of replacing the screen... Thanks for your time..

I promise it's brand new..you can notice refurbished ones much cheaper that online!

Kathleen Duncanson | 5 comments well, funny you should mention that... I got up this morning to an electronic mail saying that my replacement Nook was out of stock and would not be available until x/15/14... Now heed y'all they took the money out of my banking company business relationship just they were not going to transport for another month... I told them that that was unacceptable.. I'thousand saving my money and opting out for an Ipad... I cannot believe they sent an email saying that it was on it'south way yesterday.. then they said no, information technology's non on its manner.. then I chatted with CSR and she said how pitiful she was simply there was nothing she could do. Afterwards thinking about it, (this was a refurbished unit of measurement btw) I decided to cancel and guess what? All of a sudden they take one available in the warehouse. My patience was very thin by then then I told her to cancel the gild... and that's non the end of the story..LOL... I just received an email proverb my new Nook is on information technology'south way... go figure.. I don't know what to believe at this bespeak.. I did get a tracking number on this e-mail.. I wish I knew what was going on over at that place... ridiculous.. I was very disappointed.. they have always provided skillful service in the by.. Stay tuned for the next episode ... I get the distinct feeling that the Nook Hard disk drive, Hard disk drive+ and Tablet are all no longer being made. They but show the new Milky way and the Glow reader... Thanks for the heads up.. I was shopping on ebay and there are several there for around $100 new and $50 and up on used.. Thank you for your help in all of this... having very negative feelings towards B& Due north today..

Michelle (mgauffant) | 86 comments I've always had great experience with customer service, but my sister had a very similar feel to yours.
she had both of her kids Nooks replaced and continues to get the run around. Information technology's a shame for those of us that want to continue to give B&North our business :(
Adept luck whichever tablet yous end up getting.
My uses for the nook are primarily reading..I have an Ipad, which I use for "tablet stuff"-so if y'all're leaning toward an Ipad, that's a great choice.
I have a nook unproblematic touch for reading which is fantastic.
Good luck!!

Nina (marshnina) | 60 comments I accept given up on barnes and noble nook. Now they are not being produced and Samsung is being sold in the stores. I have my nook books on an iPad and have besides kindle and a kindle fire to bear to and from work.

Kathleen Duncanson | 5 comments Thanks for your input Nina... I'm just such a fan of Nook... I accept been since they came out and this is my 3rd nook I take endemic. I want to give them every chance to arrive right. They tell me my new nook is being delivered on Tuesday. I will post in one case I have a look at it to run across if I'm going to keep it.
